E-book Parcels from Overseas
OverzichtIn the E-book ‘Parcels from Overseas', author Dewi Deijle tells about her struggle for recognition and justice. The book describes the harsh reality of legalized child trafficking in adoptions of children from Indonesia and the role of the Dutch state and adoption brokers in the 1970s and 1980s. Criminals were arrested for this in Indonesia, but that was not enough. The consequences are dire. Lawyer Dewi Deijle, who was adopted herself in 1980, provides insight into her research into the legal possibilities of holding the Dutch state partly responsible for the gaps in the admission policy that was in force at the time, resulting in the increasing trafficking of children from Indonesia.
